He was born May 16, 1877 in Mechanic township. He was married twice, the first time to Rebecca Jane Mitten in March 1909. She died in August, 1925. He then married Pearl Stockman March 2, 1934. She survives.
He was a member of the Old Salem church and was a lumber dealer and sawyer all his life.
Surviving are five children by his first marriage. They are Mrs. Dema Arnold, Millersburg; Mrs. Mary Stocker, Orrville, RD 1; Mrs. Mabel Mathie, Canton; Doyle McCauslin, Cuyahoga Falls and John McCauslin, Oildale, Calif. Five stepchildren also survive; George Stockman, at home; Frank and John Stockman, both of Canton; Mrs. Helen Snyder, Canton; and Mrs. Alcy Bonham, Millersburg; also eleven grandchildren.
Services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Elliott-Myers Funeral home in Millersburg. Rev. Robert Binkley officiating. Burial in Oak Hill cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home.
