Sad Death of Mrs. Fiss.
Mrs. Maud B. Fiss died Saturday noon at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. A.D. Phelps, from septicemia. She had been ill for several months and returned to Corning about four weeks ago in hopes to regain her health but her frail constitution could not longer withstand the ravages of the disease.
The deceased was born in Iowa 23 years ago and came to corning with her parents in 1890. She was married three years ago to Mr. Frank Fiss and two children were born to the, the latter of whom died in infancy. Last September she and her husband went to Iowa to live but the severe climate did not agree with her and they were forced to return.
The funeral services were held at the Methodist church Monday Morning at 10 o'clock, Rev J. U. Simmons preaching the sermon. The following acted as pallbearers: P.J. Newton, H.G. Edgerton, Frank Albertson, B.J. Morey, F. W. Waite and William Dietz.
Mrs. Fiss leaves to mourn her loss a loving husband, a baby son, father, mother, two sisters and two brothers all of whom reside in Corning except one brother and one sister. She was a bright and intelligent young woman of loving disposition and her many friends sympathize deeply with the afflicted family.
