Marie Jurdy Carpenter was born on December 23,1895 in Lebanon. Her mother had brought her and her sibings over to America when they were just little. They were educated in English and French. They had settled in Spirit Lake, Idaho with their mother's brother who had owned a bunch of land around the Spirit Lake area. When Marie was 16 years old she had met Edward Carpenter in Moscow, Idaho. They had got married and had 9 kids. Five in which survived and four in which died as babies. They had owned stores in Spirit Lake along with the rest of Marie's family. The couple had later retired to Spokane and on the 5th of August of 1965 Marie Jurdy Carpenter passed away at the age of 69.
