WWII casualty and Purple Heart recipient, US Navy Reserve, Seaman 2nd Class. Was aboard USS Frederick C. Davis (DE 136), an Edsall-class destroyer, when it was sunk by German submarine U-546 in the North Atlantic, resulting in the loss of 115 men. Listed at Tablets of The Missing at East Coast Memorial, Battery Park, New York City, for missing in action or buried at sea.
