Dies of Dropsy
Funeral Services at Oak Grove Thursday.
George N. Crone, passed away at four o'clock this (Wednesday) morning at his home in Corydon. Death was caused from a six weeks illness of dropsy.
The deceased was fifty four years of age. He was the son of Clarence and Nellie Crone and was born and reared in the Zoar vicinity. He was a member of Zoar United Brethern church. He served three years in the United States Army and was in the 16th Company Coast Artillery.
Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at two o'clock at Oak Grove church conducted by the Rev. L. W. Mayhugh. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Lillian Crone, his parents, Mr. and Mrs Clarence Crone, four sons and four daughters, Carl of the U.S. Navy, Glenn, Cecil N., and Archie E. Crone. Mrs. Ada Mae Backherms, Mrs, Clarabelle Lasley, and Miss Bettie Jean Crone of Corydon, and Mrs. Joe (Alleine) Steiner, near Crandall. He also leaves five grandchildren. one step grandchild, six brothers and one sister, Oren and Walter Crone of Corydon, Clem and Joe Crone of Georgetown, Roy and Clarence J. Crone of New Albany. and Mrs. Anna Byerly of Crandall.
