Sarah Frances Morton married on 1 Apr. 1835 in Madison Co., KY to Madison Todd.

The name "Sarah Bell Todd" on the replacement marker is incorrect. The dates 1813-1855 are those for Sarah Frances Todd.

The Madison Todd family was originally buried in Todd Cemetery. Two undated surveys of the gravestones in Todd Cemetery are located in the Special Collections and Archives, Eastern Kentucky University, Richmond, KY.

The survey by Alvin E. Martin, Jr. lists, in part:
Sarah F. Todd, wife of M. Todd, 16 Mar. 1813 – 19 Jan. 1865 (?)
Sarah Bell Todd, dau of J.M. & S.E. Todd 1 Jul. 1854 – 29 Nov. 1863

Donal S. West in his survey of the cemetery stated that it was in a field where horses ran loose. "There are some sunken graves, a few field stones with no markings on stones." He listed, in part:
Sarah F., wife of M. Todd b March 16, 1813; d Jan. 12, 1855.
(The daughter, Sarah Bell Todd was not included in this survey.)

The KY Department of Highways, Right of Way Division, Frankfort, KY has records for relocation of the Todd Cemetery to construct a highway ramp. Its earlier transcripts of Todd Cemetery did not list a gravestone for Sarah F. Todd. Its later transcripts lists her dates 1813-1855, but incorrectly show her name as Sarah Bell Todd. An earlier transcript listed the daughter, Sarah Bell Todd, dau of __________- 1818-1885. In later transcripts, that daughter is shown as Sarah Bell Todd died 29 Nov. 1863, dau of S. E. Todd.

In 1986, remains in the Todd Cemetery at KY 595 and Mayne Road / at KY 595 and Walnut Meadow Road were relocated to the Berea Cemetery, Berea, KY. The owner of the funeral home responsible for the relocation of the graves said that a question had been raised of someone's having removed a gravestone but that no further details were recalled.

The whereabouts of the original gravestone for Sarah Frances Todd surveyed twice when it was in Todd Cemetery is unknown. A replacement gravestone in the Berea Cemetery contains the wrong name "Sarah Bell Todd" but the dates of 1813-1855 for Sarah Frances Todd.

Sarah Frances Todd was a party to a deed dated 30 June 1854, and her husband, Madison Todd, was remarried on 31 Jan. 1856.

"Vital Statistics of Madison Co., KY Births-Deaths-Marriages" Vol. I, Pg 121 lists: Sarah Todd married, female, age 41, died 19 Jan. 1855.

Based on the above sources, believe Sarah Frances Todd was b 16 Mar. 1813 and that she died in 19 Jan. 1855.
