Son of Isaac Abdill of Delaware and Marie Bisette of New Jersey. Husband of Charlotte Gibbon. A tinsmith by trade, he served in the Union Army during the Civil War. In 1926 he drove his "tin lizzie" from Oregon to Redondo Beach, Ca to see his sister, Ellen McMannon, after being seperated by the Civil War and her marriage for 66 years. Died of "senility"

George served as a private in Company C, 65th Illinois Volunteer Infantry, part of the Scotch Regiment of Cameron's Highlanders.
