He worked for the city of Aspen for 20 years and has spent the past five years gold-mining in Alaska during the summers with XII Caesars Gold. And most recently, he drove a bus for the Aspen School District.
Aspen is where he met the love of his life Jackie (McPhee) Ayers and had two beautiful children together, Jimmy Ayers and Ashley Ayers. Jim had the ability to walk into any room and control it with his magnetic personality that pulled everyone in to hear his endless stories, infectious laugh and goofy smile. He will be dearly missed by his loving wife, children, brothers and sisters, and numerous nieces and nephews as well as many close friends and the community that he touched. A celebration of Jim’s life is being planned for this coming summer.
