JOE WALLACE BURLESON, born April 11, 1923 to John and Lucile Burleson in Marlin, Texas, passed away May 15, 2008 in Houston. Mr. Burleson served his country proudly in the US Marines during World War II, and retired from Tenneco after more than 30 years. He was a long-time member of Lindale Park and Cade-Rothwell Masonic Lodges, and a faithful member of Heights Presbyterian Church, where he sang in the choir for many years. Mr. Burleson is survived by his wife of 60 years and 1 day, Callie Francis Burleson; children, Larry W. Burleson and wife, Karen, Randy W. Burleson and wife, Carrie, and Carol E. Epps and husband, Ronald; grandchildren, Kory Burleson and wife, Lacey, Brett Burleson, Kyle Epps, and Kelli Epps; sister, Lucile Below and husband, Robert, and numerous other family. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday, May 19, 2008 at Heights Funeral Home. The funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 20, 2008 in the Chapel of Heights Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery. For those desiring, memorial donations may be made to Heights Presbyterian Church, 240 West 18th St., Houston, TX 77008.
