John Andrews was mustered into Company A, 50th Georgia Volunteer Infantry as a 2nd Sergeant at Blackshear, Georgia on 04 Mar 1862. Company A was known as the "Satilla Rangers". He was captured in 1864 and held captive until his release from Ft. Delaware. He married Emily Dowling of Pierce County, GA on 02 Mar 1856.
