Patricia D. Daggett, 86, of Quincy, died at 10:55 p.m. Tuesday (Nov. 26, 2013) in Maple Lawn Nursing Home, Palmyra, Mo.
Born March 15, 1927, in Paloma, she was a daughter of Fred and Frances Hibbert Hudelson.
At the age of 12, Patricia dropped out of school to help on the farm. She moved to Quincy with her mother when she was 15 and began to work as a waitress. She met a young soldier, Richard Daggett, just returning from World War II, and they were married July 20, 1946, in Rushville. He died Oct. 22, 2001.
Patricia loved to travel, camp, fish, bowl and play bingo.
Survivors include three sons, Richard Daggett (Debbie) of Monroe City, Mo., and Bill Daggett (Vickie) and Ronald Daggett (Kathy), both of Quincy; a daughter, Diana Gillespie, of Hurst, Texas; 20 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Norma Jean Harmon of Quincy and Marilyn Ellerman of Sun City, Ariz.; and a sister-in-law, Maxine Hudelson.
In addition to her husband, Richard, Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, two sons, Robert Dale Daggett and Rickie Daggett, two grandsons, Art Daggett and Richard Leo Daggett III, a sister, Betty Higgins; a brother, Dale "Bud" Hudelson, and a son-in-law, Gary Gillespie.
SERVICES: 2 p.m. Saturday in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home, with the Rev. Steve Goughnour conducting. Burial will be in Quincy Memorial Park.
VISITATION: 4 to 6 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.
