Aldred, Jean Beatrice - Born in Berwick and a current Dartmouth resident, passed away June 5, 2011, in Dartmouth General Hospital. Born in 1926, she was a daughter of the late Claude and Beatrice (Olivie) White. She lived in various places in the Annapolis Valley, and also spent a few years living in British Columbia until returning to Nova Scotia. Jean was known for her beautiful quilts and her creative abilities that she took much pride in. Family was very important to Jean and she adored each and every one of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her children, Robert (Janice), Betty Walker (John), Murray (Theresa), Elwood (Wendy) and John; also grandchildren, Susan, Stephen, Russell, Pam, Clint, Kendra, Matthew, Jessica, Martin, Jordan and Brent; as well as her many great-grandchildren and her stepbrother, Ralph. Jean was also a foster mother to many children. She was predeceased by her husband, Russell; brother, Noyce and a sister in infancy. There will be no services as per her wishes; a graveside service will be held on Thursday, June 9th at 1 p.m. in New Tremont Cemetery, Tremont, Kings Co. Family asks that in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia. Condolences can be sent to: [email protected].
