GASTONIA - Catherine Morgan Coe, 81, of 909 Sandy Lane, died Nov. 27, 2008, at The Robin Johnson House in Dallas.

She was born Aug. 3, 1927 in Buncombe County to Charles Sr. and Evelyn Morgan.

She was a member of Yorkwood Church of God where she loved to sing and attend church. After retiring as an office manager, she loved being a homemaker and she was a great cook.

Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Phillip E. and Debbie Coe of Clover, S.C.; Jerry E. and Diane Coe of Locust, N.C.; daughters and sons-in-law, Tammy C. and Gary Sims of Gastonia, Beverly C. and Ken Cotton of Gastonia, brothers and sisters-in-law, Leonard and Mildred Morgan, Charles Jr. and Barbara Morgan, all of Asheville, Bobby and Betty Morgan of Arden, N.C., Clifford and Lois Morgan of Weaverville, N.C.; seven grandchildren, Charlie Sims, Bryan, Shelton Amber, Mark, Michael and Tiffany Coe; great-grandchildren, Hunter, A.J., Denae, Samantha, Jake, Sierra, Jeffrey, Brooke, Christian and Jacob.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Willard C. Coe and brothers, Herman, Warren and Henry Morgan.

The family will receive friends 1 to 3 p.m. prior to the service at the church.

Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Monday, Dec. 1 at Yorkwood Church of God with Revs. Joel Shirley, Bobby Smith and Daniel R. Shortridge officiating.

Burial will follow at Gaston Memorial Park.

Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home, 2916 Union Road, Gastonia, is serving the family.
