John E. Lyall served two tours of duty in the 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment in Vietnam War from 1969-70 and 1971-72 and was awarded two Purple Hearts and three Bronze Star medals. He was also a member of the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels and a Freemason with the Morrison Lodge #76.
