Her parents are Izaak (Isaac) van der Meer and Aaltje (Alida) van den Bos. She is a twin sister of Leendert VanderMeer, nr. 96133175, one of the main founders of the Dutch settlements Orange City, Sioux County, Iowa, and Harrison, Douglas County, South Dakota.
In 1850 the family resides in Lake Prairie Township near the Dutch settlement Pella in Marion County, Iowa.
Antje married on 12 February 1851 in Pella to the Dutchman Willem (William) van Tol (born on 15 Sep 1829 in Zevenhuizen, Zuid-Holland, the Netherlands) and they had two daughters, Aaltje (Adeline) and Antje (Anna) van Tol. William died in 1857 at Pella and Antje remarried on 3 July 1857 in Pella, Marion County to the widower Wopke DeHaan, who had Dutch parents too. In 1860 and 1861 they resided in Marion County, very probably in or near Pella.
She died in October 1871 at the age of 41 years in Orange City, Sioux County, Iowa, wife of Wopke DeHaan.
