GONE TO HER REWARD
Died, at her home near Lancaster, Tuesday, February 5, 1895, at 12:15 p.m., Mrs. Annie D. Reinhard, wife of John Reinhard, after an illness of 10 days of pneumonia fever.
Mrs. Reinhard was born in Frankfort, Germany, April 19, 1837. She came to Pannsylvania with her family in 1850 and lived there until 16 years of age, when her family removed to Stark county, Ohio, where she married John Reinhard January 1, 1856. They lived in Stark county until 1868, when they came to Atchison county, Kansas, and located on the farm where they now live. She united with the Lutheran church when quite young and has lived an earnest, conscientious christian to her death.
She was a loving and true wife, a most devoted mother to her children, who today are an honor to the state and county in which they live, and a living example of a true mother's mission in life fulfiled.
At the time of her death her husband and ten children were at her bedside, the eldest child being 35 years and the youngest 16.
Mrs. Reinhard was one of our early pioneers, and to such christian mothers as her belong the honor of our present christian and high educational standard, instilling day by day, year by year, into her children and those with whom she came in contact, honesty of purpose, zeal, purity, and placing the dependency of all in Him who guides and rules all things for the best. Her life's work is over, and is one all may well look to for guidance and consolation. She had the respect, love and confidence of all who knew her.
Peace to her ashes.
[poem follows]
The funeral took place from the Union church Thursday at 2 o'clock Rev. Payden of Effingham conducting the services. All tender the bereaved family in this their dark hour all that can be given--human sympathy.
