GREEN VALLEY, Ariz. – Anne Dorothy Alberts, 71, of Green Valley, Ariz., passed away Feb. 6, 2013, at Casa de la Luz Hospice in Tucson, Ariz,, after a long illness.
Born in 1941 in Bloomington, and grew up in El Paso and Aurora, she married James Robert Alberts in 1961, and the couple resided in Rochelle and farmed. After her husband died in 1987, she moved to DeKalb and worked as an administrative assistant for Northern Illinois University.
In 2002, she retired to Green Valley, where she enjoyed swimming, bridge club, mahjong, knitting and travel. She also volunteered at the Green Valley Library and Methodist Church.
She is survived by sons, Peter James (Diane) Alberts and Barry Lee Alberts; daughter, Susan Anne (Ed) Alberts-Stahl; granddaughter, Elizabeth Anne Alberts; brothers, David (Lillian) Stack, Mark Stack and Brian (Carol) Stack; and sister, Mary Stack.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Dorothy Stack.
Funeral services will begin at noon Saturday, March 2, at Elim Reformed Church, 140 S. Church Road, Kings, IL 61068. She will be buried next to her husband at White Rock Cemetery..
