Nellie B. Acree:

Nellie B. (Corvey) Acree, 100 years old, of Fulton, Missouri, passed away at Callaway Hospital on Thursday, December 21, 2006.
Nellie was born July 5, 1906, in Fulton, Missouri, the daughter of the late Edward and Alice (Littrell) Corvey.

In April 1930 she was united in marriage to Gordon Wright Acree who preceded her in death on July 4, 1972.

She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by one son, Glenn Edward (Marlene) Acree; two grandchildren, Debra Harris of Fulton, Missouri and Julie (Richard) Arnett of Columbia, Missouri; three great-grandchildren, Glenn Harris of Fulton, Missouri; Brianne and Cory Arnett of Columbia, Missouri; several nieces. nephews and many dear friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, Gordon Corvey; one sister, Edna Magruder and one grandson, Jeffrey Acree.

Nellie spent most of her life living in the Fulton community. As a young lady, she worked as a volunteer for the American Red Cross. Nellie graduated from Synodical College, in Fulton, Missouri in 1927, taught at the Wallace School near Hatton, Missouri for two years, then at Lamar School.
She met and married Gordon Acree who was teaching at Miller School in 1930.

Nellie worked at the Missouri School of the Deaf for a short time.

She attended Ebenezer Babtist Church with her husband for many years, but remained a life long member of the First Babtist Church in Fulton. She was a member of the hospital auxiliary for many years and was a partner with her husband in the construction business and the lime and phosphate trucking business.

Nellie loved her family dearly. Her hobbies were visiting with her grandchildren, reading and cooking.

Funeral services will be 1:00PM on Tuesday, December 26, 2006 at Maupin Funeral Home in Fulton. Visitation will be from 11:00AM until the time of service .

Interment will be held at Callaway Memorial Gardens.

Memorial contributions may be made to the First Babtist Church.
