Helen M. Battey, 72, of Firwood Drive, North Kingstown, died Aug 3, 1990 at home. She was the wife of Joseph R. Battey.
Born Feb 7, 1918 in Providence, a daughter of the late Michael and Winifred (Hawkins) fogarty, she had been a resident of East Greenwich and Providence before moving to North Kingstown 33 years ago.
Besides her husband she leaves three sons, J. Robert Battey of West Warwick, Thomas M. Battey and Mark S. Battey, both of North Kingstown; a daughter Joan E. Ainscough of Mystic, Conn., three sisters, Winifred Cleary and Mary Doorley, both of Warwick and Rita Cronin of East Providence; and seven grandchildren. She was also a sister of the late Thomas M. Fogarty.
The funeral was held Monday from the Hill Funeral Home, East Greenwich, with a Mass of Christian burial in St. Francis de Sales Church. Burial was in Quidnessett memorial Cemetery.
