Carlos Arthur William Armendariz passed away on Saturday, September 4, 2010 after a short illness at this home in Lake Havasu City at the age of 83. Carlos was born in Los Angeles, CA to Guadalupe and Micaela (Batallan) Armendariz.

Carlos joined the United States Navy on August 12, 1944 and was honorably discharged on June 8, 1946 during World War II. Following his service to his country, Carlos became a long haul truck driver for 33 years. Carlos then entered the family business, Armenco Engineering working as a fabricator for 14 years. Following retirement Carlos made Lake Havasu City his home 20 years ago, moving here from Long Beach, CA.

Carlos enjoyed many hobbies, among them, riding in the sand dunes at Glamis and boating on the lake. He volunteered for the DAV (Disabled American Veterans), driving veterans to the VA hospitals in Phoenix and Prescott. He was a member of the Elks Lodge #2399, American Legion Post #81 and the Fraternal Order of Eagles. Carlos loved his Country and was very patriotic to the end.

Carlos is survived by his loving wife, Louise; sons Arthur Armendariz and his wife Marty of Long Beach, CA, David Armendariz and his wife Debi of Sweet Home, OR and Dan McDonald and his wife Marie of Hesperia, CA; daughters Georgina Peterson of Bellflower, CA, Rachel Pendleton and her husband Clay of Lexington, KY and Rhonda Fitzwater and her husband Jeff of Panaca, NV; brothers Adam Armendariz and his wife Kay of San Jacinto, CA, David Armendariz and his wife Sandy of Long Beach, CA and Phillip Armendariz of Artesia, CA; sisters Yolanda Contreras and her husband Veto of Montebello, CA and Sara Guarado and her husband Joe of Sanger, CA, as well as 21 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sisters Eva and Betty.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 10, 2010 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Lietz-Fraze Chapel. Military honors and a celebration of Carlos' life will be held the following day Saturday, September 11, 2010 at 1:00 PM at Lietz-Fraze Chapel. Interment will follow at Lake Havasu Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be made in Carlos' name to Hospice of Havasu, PO Box 597, Lake Havasu City, AZ 86405.
