Daughter of Frederick Miller
Passed away at home: 1211 Piedmont Road, Charleston, WV

Bio Provided by Findagrave Member Diane Parker:
Only Daughter of Mary Anna Davidson (of Lynchburg, Virginia) and Frederick Miller (of Saxony, Germany, who immigrated to the United States in 1868);

Granddaughter of Ferdinand Miller and Minna Lustenberry Miller (both of Germany) and of Joseph Davidson and Anna Smith Davidson (both born in Cumberland County, Virginia);

Half-Sister of Robert W Davidson, James Monroe Davidson, John Davidson, Samuel Miller Davidson, Bennett Marion Davidson and Albert E Davidson.

Mary Anna Miller was named for both her Mother and her Maternal Grandmother.
Her Mother, Mary, had been born in Lynchburg, Virginia and was the "Common Law" Wife of Samuel Miller, an Entrepreneur in Lynchburg…..Mary had six sons with Samuel Miller and they all carried the "Davidson" name….after Samuel Miller died in 1869 Mary and her Mother Anna moved to the property in Rockbridge County, near Goshen, that had been left to her in Samuel Miller's Will. At some point, Mary Davidson met Frederick Miller, a recent arrival to Virginia, and married him in Staunton, Augusta County, Virginia in 1873…..Mary was then 44 years old. The year following their marriage, Mary and Frederick welcomed a daughter, Mary Anna Miller…….they then moved to Charleston, West Virginia where they would remain.

Mary's Mother, Mary Anna Davidson Miller, died of Consumption on June 3rd, 1900, at the age of 71…… Mary Anna Miller was 25 at the time.

On September 12, 1900, just a few months after her Mother's death, Mary Anna Miller married Henry Jennifer Abbott…….the Groom was 33 and the Bride 25.

Mary's Father, Frederick Miller, a Machinist, continued to live with Mary and her husband Henry for the remainder of his life. (Frederick Miller died Oct 18, 1910.)

Mary and Henry did not have any children…..Mary's Husband, Henry Jennifer Abbott, died of a Heart Attack in December 1940. (His occupation at that time was listed as a Butcher, but I am not sure how accurate that is, as he was listed as Retired on previous census records and had been a Traveling Salesman.)

Mary Anna Miller Abbott did not remarry…..she continued to live in the family home on Piedmont Road in Charleston until her death in 1965 of Heart Disease. She was 90 years old.

She is buried in Springhill Cemetery, beside her Husband and near her Parents.
