Joseph Crowl, age 89 of Elkhart, IN and Minerva died Friday Dec. 28, 2007 in Elkhart, IN. He was born Jan. 4, 1918 in Malvern to Herman and Bertha (Mizer) Crowl. He retired from the Timken Co. after 40 years of service. He is a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Minerva and was a US Navy Veteran of World War II. He is a past master of Tubal Lodge #551 F&AM. He is survived by his wife Jane (Manahan) Crowl; daughter JoAnn (Tim) Heestand of Minerva; three stepdaughters, Becky Batti of Elkhart, IN, Barb Clark of Roy, WA, Nancy Sellers of Lexington, SC; four grandchildren, Jodi, Jason, Andrew and Sarah; two step grandchildren, Mark and Bryan; three great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his first wife Kathryn (Smith) Crowl; a son David Crowl. Funeral services will be Friday Jan. 4th, 2008 at 11:00 AM in St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Minerva with Rev. Brian Rossow, Rev. Donald Pentz and Rev. Joseph Ertl officiating. Burial with full military honors will be in East Lawn Cemetery. Calling hours will be Thursday from 6-8 PM with Masonic Services at 5:45 PM in the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home.
