Mrs. Eliza A. Adams of Matherville, Ill., died at 5:30 yesterday afternoon in St. Anthony's hospital, after having been an invalid for five years and having undergone several operations. She was to have been operated upon at 10 o'clock this morning, but death prevented. She was born in Maryland Dec. 19, 1857, and was 61 years old at the time of her death. Surviving are one son, George of Matherville, four daughters: Mrs. Grace Turner of Rock Island, Mrs. Jessie Voss of Viola, Mrs. John Smith of Viola, Mrs. Jennie Jones of Matherville; one brother, Thomas Howell of St. Louis, Mo., and one sister, Mrs. Hanna Wickman of Huston, Texas.
Remains will be taken to her home today and funeral services will be held at 2:30 tomorrow afternoon in the Methodist church. Interment will be in Matherville cemetery.
