He served in Marine Fighting Squadron 218 (VMF-218) "The Hellions" from October 15, 1944 to August 10, 1945.
He received his discharge from the Marine Corps on November 23, 1945 at the U.S. Marine Corps Air Station, Cherry Point, North Carolina.
He was originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
He was married to Elizabeth Altenbach.
He was interred in the Gettysburg National Cemetery on March 10, 1975.
