John P. Knight, 88, native and former resident of Seneca County, died Saturday, November 16, 1946 in St. Louis, Mo., where he had resided for more than 30 years. Mr. Knight was born on a farm in Hopewell township on September 16, 1858 and was a son of Thomas C. and Mary (Powell) Knight. He was the brother of the late Naaman and Thomas Knight who formerly resided here. He is survived by two sons and a daughter: Homer W. Knight, Memphis, Tenn.; Claude M., Phoenix, Ariz.; and Dorothy, wife of Martin Elenbaum, Washington, D.C.; and by four grandchildren. Mr. Knight was a member of the Centenary Methodist Church in St. Louis. Funeral services will be held in St. Louis and burial will be in Loveland, Ohio where a son, John R. Knight, is buried.
