Sharon “Sherrie” Helvie, 59 of Nederland passed away on Sunday, January 24, 2010 at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas in Port Arthur.
Funeral service will be 10:00 AM, Friday, January 29, 2010 at Broussard’s in Nederland with Reverend Carl Durden and Reverend David Higgs officiating. A gathering of family and friends will be 5:00-8:00 PM, Thursday at the mortuary. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Broussard’s.
Sherrie was a native of Richards and has lived the last ten years in Nederland. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Nederland. Sherrie enjoyed sewing, needlepoint and working with children and pre-teens in church. She will always be remembered for her laugh and smile.
Sherrie is survived by her husband, Charles Marc Helvie of Nederland; son, Joseph Helvie and his wife Christie of Nederland; daughter, Amy H. Nunn of Nederland; three grandchildren, Sharon Nunn, Marcus Helvie, Dakota Helvie; brother, Don Ray Byargeon of Colorado; step-father, Don W. Baum of Lufkin. She will be especially missed by her feline companions, Skeeter and Bobbie Ruth.
