Scott Rupp was a well known contractor in Butte County. He built many homes and commercial buildings in the Northern California area. He was married and had 3 children. At the time of his death he was survived by his wife, mother, two sisters, two sons, one daughter and 3 grandchildren. On Dec 23 1981 he was a passenger in a small private floatplane that was attempting to land on Lake Oroville and was subsequently drowned when the plane flipped over on landing and he never surfaced. The pilot and one other passenger survived the accident. Mr Rupp's body was never recovered.
