Lauren Julia Allison died in a vehicle accident on Aug. 24.
She was born on March 8, 1991, at Harney District Hospital to Mike and Hilda (Stampke) Allison.
Allison was a 2009 graduate of Burns High School and planned to attend Central Oregon Community College in Bend, beginning the upcoming winter term. She was employed as an office manager at The Truck Shop, and previously had worked at the Dairy Queen.
She was an avid longboarder, artist and creative seamstress. Allison did not shy away from baiting a hook, hunting with the "guys," tackling a complicated recipe or joking with customers. She could put together the sharpest outfits from "found" objects in her room and grandma's jewelry box — she had a flair for her own personal style and a confidence that exceeded her 18 years.
Allison brought a bright light to her family. They will always think of her as a shining star that will not burn out, but will simply be up in the night sky earlier than anyone could imagine.
Allison is survived by her parents, Mike and Hilda Allison of Hines; sister, Rachael; brother, Patrick; grandmothers, Patricia Allison of Hines, and Guillermina Wolfe of Idaho; aunts and uncles, Theresa and Brad Smith of Oregon City, Albert and Traci Stampke of Fairfield, Idaho, and Ida Stampke Rico of Phoenix, Ariz.; and maternal great-grandmother, Dorothy E. Wormington, Portland. She is also survived by cousins, Aaron and Dylan Smith of Oregon City, Megan and Nicole Stampke of Fairfield, Idaho, and Bella, Anna and Sophia Rico of Phoenix, Ariz.; and many special friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Patrick Allison in 1996 and Neil Stampke in 2000; and uncle, Oscar Stampke in 2000.
Mass of Christian Burial was held on Monday, Aug. 31, at the Holy Family Catholic Church with vault burial in the Burns Cemetery. Contributions in Allison's memory may be made to the Burns High School Art Program, in care of LaFollette's Chapel, P.O. Box 488; Burns, OR 97720.
LaFollette's Chapel was in charge of funeral arrangements.
