Charles A. served was one of the most beloved mayors of Butte, Montana and helped the Copper City through some of the hardest years it's endured. He served three consecutive terms as Major of Butte (1935-1940), was re-elected for a fourth term on April 7th, 1941, but was unable to finish the term as he died of a heart attack April 11th, 1941.
