Nicholas Neidert (born about 1784) & his wife Sybilla were born in Germany and arrived in the U.S. in the 1840s. Their two children, Ignatius & Jacobina were in their teens then.
They settled in Putnum Co, Ohio in January 1847 when Nicholas bought a 46-acre farm between Ft. Jennings and Delphos, in the SW corner of Putnam Co.
In the 1850 Census Nicholas was 66 years old, Sybilla 63, Ignatius 19 and Jacobina 16. They lived in Putnam County & Nicholas is buried in Ft. Jennings, although the exact whereabouts are unknown at this time.
Jacobina married John Henrich Anton Von Lehmden and had two sons before her death.
It is believed that both Sybilla & Jacobina died of cholera, but this is not confirmed.
