Mary Ann Looney, 93, a resident of Countryside Estate, died Friday, July 8. Mrs. Looney lived in Iola most of her life and worked a number of years for the Sifer's Candy Company. She was born March 25, 1895, near Garnet, the daughter of Elijah and Elizabeth Hufferd Dalton. She married Lloyd L. Serl. He died and she later married Nate Sinclair. He died in 1939. She then married Walter R. Looney. He died in 1955. Survivors include three sons, Cecil Serl of Copan, Okla., Floyd Serl of Burlington and Charles Serl, Ontario, Calif.; a daughter, Vivian Morris, Iola; a stepson, Walter L. Looney of Iola; a stepdaughter, Ella Hamilton of Parsons; and a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. An infant son, Marion Serl, preceded her in death. Graveside services for Mrs. Looney will be 10 a.m. Tuesday in Highland Cemetery. Lester Dean Cole will officiate. Friends may call at the Waugh-Yokum and Friskel Chapel, 16 N. Buckeye until the time of the service.
