Floyd Eugene Kendrick, 93, died Saturday (Dec. 20, 2003) in Berthoud, Colo., after a brief illness. He was born July 31, 1910, to William and Carrie Kendrick on the family farm near Atwood. He grew up in the family house south of Atwood. He learned skills as a craftsman, mechanic, farmer and rancher..


On May 30, 1937, he married Effie Irene Makings in Oberlin. He farmed near Sappa Creek. They moved to a farm south of McDonald where they made their home for 14 years. In 1957, the family moved to Denver, Colo., where he was a carpenter until retirement in 1979. The couple moved to Atwood in 1991..


He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Irene; three brothers, Clarence, Jim and Dick; two sons, Donald in 1983 and Kenneth Kay in infancy..


Survivors include his sister-in-law, Mary Bliss of Atwood; daughter-in-law, Phyllis Kendrick of Longmont, Colo.; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren..


Services are Tuesday, 2 p.m., at Williams Funeral Home in Atwood with the Rev. Terry McGuire officiating. Interment will be in Chardon Cemetery southeast of Atwood..
