Charles Eugene Allison, age 18, of Thorney was drowned Tuesday night while with a swimming party in White river near Elkins. Members of the party said that young Allison was attempting to aid a girl he had been teaching to swim when the tragedy occurred. The body was recovered about 2:00 o'clock Wednesday morning by Fayetteville firemen.
Allison had been employed for some time by the Motor Inn Garage in Fayetteville. He was a graduate of the Elkins high school. His survivors include his parents, Mr. and Mrs. L. C. Allison; two sisters, Mary Louise and Doris Marie, and one brother, Everett Bruce, all of the home.
