Services for Elma L. Alexander were held Friday, Nov. 2, 2001 at 1 p.m. from the chapel of McClain-Hayes Funeral Home. The Rev. Eugene Morris officiated. Burial was in Morrow Cemetery under the direction of McClain-Hays Funeral Home.

Mrs. Alexander, 91, died Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2001, at Methodist North Hospital in Memphis, Tenn. She was a resident of Millington, Tenn. and was formerly of Philadelphia. She was a member of Oaklawn Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Oliver Alexander; daughter, Irma Dean Dennis; and son, Robert W. Alexander.

Survivors include two daughters, Dorothy Taylor of Hernando and Ollie Faye Ferguson of Brandon; one son, Samuel E. Alexander of Millington, Tenn.; 15 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Louise Thaggard of Madden; and two brothers, Jim Lathem of Sebastopol and Wilson Lathem of Allen, Texas.

Pallbearers were Chris Dennis, Greg Dennis, Jerry Dennis, Scott Yates, Jimmy Dennis, Bruce Ferguson, and Malcolm Ferguson.
