Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he was the son of John N. and Shirley Rose (Hoffman) Abuiso.
John graduated from Thomas Edison High School in Jamaica, N.Y. Before his illness, he was an elevator engineer for Kencor Inc. in Philadelphia. He also worked as a code inspector for the City of New York and was a member of Local No. 3, International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. He was a member of St. Bernadette's Church in Canadensis.
John is survived by his wife, Wanda (Himmel) Abuiso; two sons, John Charles Abuiso of Long Island, N.Y., and Stephen Abuiso and his wife, Brittney, of Canadensis; three brothers, Joseph Abuiso of Mount Pocono, Anthony Abuiso of Long Pond and Michael Abuiso of Canadensis; three sisters, Kathleen Caponigro of Canadensis, Donna Widowski of Wilkes-Barre and Mary Fowler of Georgetown, Del.; and many nieces and nephews.
There will be a viewing from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 14, at the Bolock Funeral Home, corner of routes 940 and 390, Paradise Valley.
The Rev. Father David Cramer will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 15, at St. Bernadette's Church, Route 390, Canadensis. Private cremation will follow at the Bolock Funeral Home Crematory.
