Evan Erastmus Cooper, 74, died on Friday, January 19, 1990.


Born February 14, 1915 to William Rasmus (Ross) and Florence Averett Cooper. Married Glenna Fern Wilkins on October 11, 1938; solemnized on February 18, 1955 in the St. George LDS Temple; she preceded him in death on November 20, 1979. Married Ena Johnson Spendlove on October 4, 1980. He lived most of his life in St. George. Owned and operated the Cooper Rest Haven for 30 years. He had great compassion for mankind. Active member LDS Church.


Survived by wife, St. George; three sons and six daughters, Margaritte Stallings, Washington; Mrs. Hyrum (Gail) Smith, St. George; Christine Marcey, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Gary (Callie) Adkins, Dugway; Mrs. Garth (Nola) Ungerman, Washington; Mr. Dixen Spendlove, Kanab; Mrs. John (Jamie) Williams, Las Vegas, Nev.; Paul Spendlove, Reno, Nev.; Paul White, Ruckford, Ill.; 29 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three sisters and three brothers, Winnie Prince, Leona Hinton, Wanda Gibson; Denny Cooper, all Henderon, Nev.; Kay and Cleve Cooper, both St. George. Sister, Nola Adams preceded him in death.


Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, January 23, 1990 at 1 p.m. at the St. George LDS Stake Center, North Bluff Street. Friends may call on Monday from 7-9 p.m. and on Tuesday from 11-12:30 p.m. at Metcalf Mortuary.
Burial: Washington City Cemetery.
