MICHAEL MCGUIRE ABERNATHY of Orlando, FL - he was the eldest of Arthur Briggs, Jr and Louise C McGuire Abernathy. Mike graduated from high school in Bitburg Germany, attended college at Wichita State and also completed drafting school. He was a U.S. Navy veteran who served in Vietnam, moved to Orlando and opened his own woodworking and cabinet making shop. Mike was also skilled with Auto-Cad and other computer programs which assisted with his projects. In 2006, he had to close his shop due to health issues. Preceded in death by his father, Arthur and sister, Deany Rief, surviving are his wife, Nancy J Fursman (married 1989); mother, Louise of Cincinnati, OH; siblings, Pete (Holly) Abernathy of Cincinnati, Susan (Donald) Diebolt, John A Fursman, III, Roxanne (Charles) Dawson and father-in-law, John A Fursman, Jr of KS. A graveside service will be held on July 21, 2012 in the Fursman Family Section. Services are under the direction of Waugh-Yokum and Friskel Memorial Chapels of Iola, KS.
