Robert Douglass Adgate, Sr of Merritt Island, FL, formerly of Haymarket, VA. Peceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Gloria Brooke Adgate in 2004 and his son Robert, Jr in April 2012, surviving is daughter, Floria (William) Benns; daughter-in-law, Sharon Adgate; grandchildren, Michael (Tammy) Adgate & Steve (Carla) Adgate both of Marshall, VA, Chrys Pope of New Orleans, LA, William, IV (Elizabeth) Benns of Cuttyhunk, MA, James (LaVerne) Benns of Virginia Beach, VA, Thomas (Amy) Benns of Elkton, VA; great-grandchildren, Josie, Rebecca, Jennifer, Carleigh, Sarah, Andrea, Jacob and Max and great-great-granddaughter Zoey. Bob was a WWII, U.S. Navy veteran, a member of the Navy Band, worked for the U.S. Postal Service and became a supervisor in the Congressional Post Office.
