Sarah/Sally Burnett married Beverly Vaughn before 1820 in Tennessee, however a marriage record cannot be found. They were married for roughly 30 years before she divorced him in Indiana.

I find him living in Madison county, Arkansas in 1840; while she was living with William Brazzell in Greene county, Indiana in 1840. She had only two of her four children, Mary Ann & youngest son, Andrew Vaughn; I believe the older two boys, Beverly & James H. Vaughn were with their father in Madison county, Arkansas. There are two sons under 5 living in the home, but I believe the enumerator made a mistake and placed them in the wrong age group. Both boys would later join the Mexican War in 1847 in Huntsville, Arkansas.

It is believed that Sarah's second husband, William was a friend from childhood, as her father & his father, William Braswell, spent time spent in the Revolutionary War together. Sarah's parents and her father's friend moved to Greene county, Indiana at the same time as Beverly & Sarah moved their family from Sparta, White, Tennessee to Owen, Indiana by 1830.

Records show that Sarah married William Brazzell 29 Jun 1841 in Greene county, Indiana; they moved to Barr, Daviess, Indiana where he died in 1851. It was then that Sarah moved to Jo Daviess, Illinois where her sons, James H. & Andrew Vaughn lived. Mary Ann also moved to Jo Daviess, Illinois after the death of her husband around 1855.
