Emma Lucinda Southworth Abbott, 85, died Feb. 1, 2000 at her sons home in Highland. She was born January 24, 1915 in American Fork, Utah to Hyrum Alansing and Clara Ruth Kershaw Southworth. She married Warren Russell Abbott in Rockville, Maryland in 1949. Emma was the chief stenographer/court re porter for the Chief Joints of Staff during World War II. She was the Chief clerk of the World Health Organization Subcommittee under Senator Hubert Humphrey. She loved genealogy and had eight descending lines on the Mayflower Ship to Governor Bradford. She was an active member of the Mayflower Society, the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers, and the LDS Church. She is survived by her only son Warren R. Abbott his wife Terrie and their four children, all of Highland. Funeral services will be held Saturday February 5, 2000 at 3:00 p.m. in the Country Club LDS Chapel (5212 West Country Club Dr.) where friends may call one hour prior to the services. Burial in the American Fork cemetery under the direction of Anderson & Sons Mortuary.
