Franklin Jefferson Abel, 62, of Columbus, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 20, 2007 after a brief illness with cancer. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur John and Anna C. (Corbin) Abel and brother, Richard Abel. Franklin is survived by his loving wife, Margaret M (Davis) Abel, to whom he was married to for 41 years. He is survived by his loving and devoted children, Tami (Robert) Tyo, Kenneth Lee (Tabatha) Abel, Dee Anna (Richard) Holley, Keith (Barbara) Abel, April (Scott) Peck, Franklin (Holly) Abel; grandchildren, Tara Hasty, Brett Lower, Megan (Will) Lane, Larissa Holley, Rachel Abel, soon to be expected baby Abel, Kristianna Peck, Erica Peck, Alexis Peck, Sierra Ratliff; great-grandchildren, Shailin Hasty, Christian Hasty, Madison Lane and Olivia Lower. Franklin is also survived by his sister, Barbara (Wilton) Lentz; brothers, Donald (Peg) Abel, James (Diane) Abel, Terry Abel; brothers and sisters in law, Delores (James) Perkins, James (Joyce) Davis, Lawrence (Florence) Davis; several nieces and nephews that reside in both Columbus, OH and Wrightsville, PA. Franklin will be sadly missed by numerous friends and his loyal pet Bud. He was a member of the Jaycees, Trinity Lutheran Church in Wrightsville, PA and retired after 34 years of service at Value City Furniture. Franklin was a veteran serving with the U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force and retired from the military in 2004. A special thank you to Cathy Stansell and all his friends at Value City for all their love and support. Visitation will be held 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00PM Sunday, February 25, 2007 at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, Ohio.
