Mary Marvin Sproles Anderson, age 86, a native and longtime resident of Mobile, Alabama died March 25, 2013 at a local healthcare facility. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Marvin Albert Sproles and Corinne Humphries Sproles and her sister, Corinne Elizabeth Sproles. As a child she was in the 1939 Mardi Gras Juvenile Court, graduated from Murphy Hugh School where she was a member of the Four Arts Club, she attended Queen's College and the University of Alabama. While at the University of Alabama she continued her love of the theater as a member of the Black Fryers Club. She was a member of Delta Zeta sorority. She was a Charter member of the Joe Jefferson Players, was a lifelong member of Government Street Presbyterian Church where she was a member of the choir. She was active in the YMCA and over the years she helped many different charities, Mrs. Anderson always had a soft spot for those in need. She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter, Rebecca Anderson Ivy (Richard) and son, Marvin Sproles Anderson (Denise); four grandchildren, Rachael Ivy Nelson, Corinne Ivy Lorge, Edward Downing Anderson and Catherine Denise Anderson; five great grandchildren, Emily Claire Nelson, Laura Abigail Nelson, Corinne Michaela Lorge, Susan Ann Lorge and Eleanor Rebecca Lorge. Memorial services were held at Government Street Presbyterian Church. (Arrangements by Radney funeral home, Mobile, AL).
