At 19 years of age he (Thomas Alford) married Keisa Cupp who was born in Virginia in 1802; she died in 1842.
Thomas married his 2nd wife Mrs. Polly Williams Mansfield on Dec. 20, 1843 in Chariton County, Missouri. She and their child died of cholera.
Thomas married his 3rd wife Emaline Galey on Feb. 4, 1853 in Linn County, Oregon.

Thomas Alford who since 1850 has resided on a farm near Harrisburg in this county, died yesterday at the extreme old age of 92. Mr. Alford came to this state in 1850. He was a man of most exemplary moral character and was noted for his pronounced personal integrity. Every man who knew him well could safely say that he was made a better man by reason of this acquaintanceship. His loss will be mourned by a large circle of relatives and acquaintances. He was buried. Peace be to his ashes.
