Giovanni Angelillo was born in Sant'Angelo d'Alife, Italy and immigrated to America, with his mother in 1905. He was living with his sister and brother-in-law in Bristol Borough, Pennsylvania, when he was inducted into militray service on May 25, 1918. He served as a Private in Company K, the 79th Division, 315th Infantry, US Army. He was killed in action at the Montfaucon on the second day of the Meuse-Argonne Offensive, France World War I.
