Vernon Lynn Agnew, 86, of Bagley, died Thursday, September , 1993, at the Greensview Health Care Center in Bagley.
He was born August 8, 1907, at Alexandria, Minnesota, to Lawrence and Saidee Agnew. He was raised and educated in Alexandria. He married Karen Alette Amundson on August 22, 1937, in Fergus Falls. He worked for the Wilson Company on the Great Lakes Boats as a cook from 1950 to 1958. He then worked at the Hotel Duluth and The Flame in Duluth as a cook. He also worked at the Parker House as a cook in Washougal, Washington until retirement in 1979, He served in the National Gaurd during World War II in Two Harbors and Duluth.
He and his wife moved to Bagley in 1990.
He attended the Faith Lutheran Church in Bagley. Survivors include his wife, Karen of Bagley; daughter, Marlys (Mrs. Jim) Woods of Bellevue, Washington; two sons, Larry of St. Croix, and Bob of Clearbrook; 10 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two half sisters, Ina and Josephine; one half brother, Merle; and a brother, Clifford.
His funeral was Saturday, September 4, at the Faith Lutheran Church in Bagley, with the Revs. Dennis Brovold and Mardy Schermerhorn officiating. Interment was at the Bagley City Cemetery. Arrangements were by the Cease Family Funeral Home, Bagley.
