Eva Myrtle Wilson was born on February 16th, 1918, in Morganton, North Carolina, the daughter of John Robert Wilson and Lillie Jane Seagle, the 6th of 12 children. She was raised in Morganton along with her siblings by her parents and her grandfather, former Confederate soldier John Allison Houck, 6th N.C. Volunteers.

She married Mr. Oscar Earle Bass of Dillon, South Carolina, and the couple had three children, a girl Eva Myrtle (1940) and two twin boys Oscar E. II and James Dudley (1954).

James Dudley died of an accidental gunshot wound in 1967, and Oscar Sr. died on October 12th, 1968, both are buried next to Myrtle.

She re-married on November 7th, 1970, to Edward Alford Fredericks who died in 1973, and was married again to William Joseph Briedenbach, or Uncle Bill as his great grandchildren knew him.

My great grandmother Myrtle died of cancer in Morganton, North Carolina, on December 2nd, 1991.
