Joseph L. Kish, of Onset, died at home Thursday, Aug. 23, 2001. He was the husband of Elissa A. Kish nee Lucadamo.
Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he lived in Queens, N.Y., Chevy Chase, Md., Somerset, N.J., and Westfield, N.J. between 1967 and 1995. He retired and settled to his winter residence in North Fort Myers, Fla., and summer residence in Onset.
He attended Stuyvesant High School in New York City, and graduated in 1955 from Brooklyn College with a bachelor of arts degree in economics.
Mr. Kish was CEO of the Vital Archives at the World Trade Center, New York. Prior to this, he was a consultant for the Fenvesey Management Consulting Firm in Manhattan, N.Y. He was employed by Iron Mountain Record Storage Co. in New York City from 1967-1973 and worked for the federal Treasury Department on a project with warehousing records.
He began his profession working with Lockheed of Watchung. For 23 years, he was an adjunct professor at Columbia University, New York.
He was a member of the Wareham Knights of Columbus, the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks of Somerset in New Jersey, and past president and a member for 17 years of the American Management Association.
Since 1977, Mr. Kish was named in the American and Business Who's Who. He was an author and published a column in Graphic Monthly, a trade magazine. He also had feature articles in Business Week.
He was an usher and sang in the choir at St. Mary's R.C. Church.
During peacetime he served his country with the Army in Germany.
Survivors include his widow Elissa; a son, Joseph R. Kish; two daughters, Grace Edna Kish and Frances C. Burrell; a brother, Stephen C. Kish; and a sister, Vilma E. Wolf.
His funeral will be held at 9 a.m. Tuesday from the Rossi Funeral Home, 1937 Westfield Ave., Scotch Plains, N.Y. Interment will be in Lake Nelson Memorial Park, Piscataway, N.J.
