Melissa Sue Bakker of Middletown, died Tuesday, March 24, 2009 unexpectedly at St. Francis Hospital, Poughkeepsie, NY. She was 21.
Born in Middletown, NY on July 3, 1987, she was the daughter of Menso Bakker of Florida, NY and Donna R. Creeden Bakker of Middletown, NY.
She was a communicant of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Middletown, where she had served as an altar server. She attended Middletown High School, Orange Ulster Boces, and Harmony Heights High School in Long Island. She worked in retail at Wal-Mart, Middletown.
Melissa Sue had a tremendous love of animals, especially horses; her beloved nephews; and had a great passion for music.
She is survived by her parents; two sisters, Shannon Bakker of Otisville and Kristen Bakker of Ellenville; maternal grandmother, Hellen Marie Creeden of Middletown; two nephews, Anthony Devos and Dominic Devos of Otisville; Godmother, Sue O'Brien of Middletown; beloved cousin, Amy Creeden of Montgomery; several aunts, uncles and cousins. She was predeceased by her beloved grandfather, Russell "Poppy" Creeden and her uncles, Russell J. Creeden and Robert Creeden.
Friends are invited to call on Friday, March 27, from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at Morse Funeral Home, Inc., 33 Railroad Ave., Middletown.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, March 28, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Middletown, with interment to follow in Wallkill Cemetery, Phillipsburg, NY.
