He was born in Staunton, Virginia, and moved to Florida in 1994 from Yorba Linda, California.
James was in management for many years with Westinghouse and Carrier Corp in the HVAC industry. He was a member of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church in Dunedin. James was an Army
veteran and served in the Korean Conflict. He was an avid reader with special interest in the Civil War.
He was preceded in death by his son, Braxton in 2000.
James is survived by his wife, Doris, of 55 years; a son, J. Scott and his wife Elizabeth, of
Stuarts Draft, Virginia; two daughters, Kathy Roberts of Waynesboro, Virginia and Lauren Brady of Dunedin; and a granddaughter, Jo Beth Roberts of Waynesboro, Virginia.
A memorial service was held 11 a.m., Friday, March 20, 2009 at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, located at 705 Michigan Avenue in Dunedin.
