Carrie Akin, 86, of Campbellsville, Route #4, died at 7:05 a.m., Wednesday, May 5, 1982 at the Taylor County Hospital. She was a member of the Brush Creek Baptist Church. She united in marriage to Ellis Akin January 9, 1918. To this union two daughters and one son were born: Geneva Moss of Campbellsville, Route #4; Virginia Caulk of Campbellsville; and Russell Akin of Campbellsville, Route #4. Besides her husband and children, she is survived by six grandchildren: Connie Clem of Elizabethtown; Donna Smith of Columbia; Robert Akin of Lexington; Melissa Akin of Bowling Green; Mary Beth Akin and Rocky Akin, both of Campbellsville, Route #4; three great-grandchildren; and a host of friends. Funeral services were at 2 p.m., Friday, May 7, at the Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home in Campbellsville by Bro. Paul R. Hamm and Dr. D. L. Druien. Burial was in Campbellsville Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers were Dr. Roger Smith, Freddy Clem, Jimmy Long, Marvin Elmore, Mac Elmore and Mike Elmore.
